Error Message

File Migration Error

A task was canceled

This fatal error terminates the migration process due to a timeout.

Timeout Scenario

📁
File Transfer
In progress
⏱️
Google/Microsoft
Timeout limit
Canceled
Connection dropped

Root Cause

External Timeout

This error originates from timeout mechanisms implemented by Google or Microsoft. It is outside the control of Cloudiway's migration tools.

Why Timeouts Occur

  • • Large file transfers taking too long
  • • Network congestion or latency
  • • API rate limiting by Google or Microsoft
  • • Server-side resource constraints
  • • Temporary service unavailability

Solution

Restart the Migration

1

Restart File Migration

Simply restart the file migration process. Most timeout errors are transient and resolve on retry.

2

Wait and Retry

If the error persists, wait a few minutes before retrying. This gives the cloud services time to stabilize.

3

Contact Support

If the issue continues after multiple retries, contact Cloudiway Support for assistance.

Delta Pass Recovery

When you restart the migration, Cloudiway's delta pass technology ensures that already-migrated files are not transferred again. Only incomplete or failed items will be processed.

Prevention Tips

  • Run migrations during off-peak hours when API load is lower
  • Migrate in smaller batches to reduce individual transfer times
  • Check Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 service status
