During a Google Vault migration, you may come up with an error message:
“Warning: The PST mapping file contains some missing target address entries. It needs to be adjusted manually.”
What causes the PST mapping file error
Google Vault export is generating 1 pst file for every 1Gb of data.
Cloudiway generates mapping files up to 100Gb archives.
If there are more than 100Gb exporting data, the system will produce more than 100 PST files for importing to Office 365. However, the limit for Office 365 is 100 PST per migration.
Cloudiway migration tool allows detecting this issue and blocking the upload instead of submitting an import job that will fail.
If a vault archive is above 100Gb, the Cloudiway cloud migration solution will
- upload all the pst files to the Microsoft blob storage (by pieces of 1Gb),
- fill 100 entries in the mapping file,
- the additional entries are added to the mapping file, but the target address (Guide of the archive) remains empty,
- the above error message is displayed in the graphical interface.
Resolution to migrate more than 100 PST
Once Cloudiway’s solution is complete, a file will be generated with the first 100Gb data that will have been migrated already.
If you can determine where to migrate the extra data, you can fill in the target address for the additional data to be migrated.
As an extra step to ensure that more data will be migrated, you can check and remove any empty lines that possibly exist in your table, so only what is currently valid will migrate.
Now you can restart your migration for the data that has not been migrated at the first pass.
