Root Cause

Drive SDK API Not Enabled

The underlying problem is that the Drive SDK API is not enabled in your Google Cloud Console. This API must be activated to permit migration operations and third-party app integrations with Google Drive.

Why This Happens

Google Workspace administrators can restrict third-party app access to organizational data. When the Drive SDK API is disabled, no external applications can access Drive content, including migration tools.

Solution

Enable Drive SDK API

A Google Workspace administrator needs to enable the Drive SDK API in the Google Admin Console and/or Google Cloud Console.

1

Access Google Admin Console

Go to admin.google.com and sign in with your administrator account.

2

Navigate to Apps Settings

Go to Apps → Google Workspace → Drive and Docs.

3

Enable Drive SDK

Find the Drive SDK setting and ensure it's enabled for your organization.

4

Allow Third-Party Apps

Under Features and Applications, make sure third-party apps can access Drive data.

Propagation Time

Changes to Google Workspace settings may take up to 24 hours to propagate across your organization. If the error persists immediately after enabling, wait and retry later.

For detailed instructions, refer to Google's official documentation on enabling Drive apps for your organization .
