Cloudiway migration supports the migration of Google Vault mail archives to Office 365 mail archives.
Google products are linked together. Therefore, the migration of the online mailbox and the vault archive must be migrated together, by the same product.
How does it work?
What is extracted?
The vault archive is an exact copy of the online mailbox. But it also contains the permanently deleted items.
Typically, you will migrate the online Google mailbox to your target (for example to the online Office 365 mailbox).
Then the vault archive will be migrated also to the online mailbox or the archive.
This would end up with the mailbox duplicated because the vault copy would also be migrated to the mailbox.
To avoid this, the platform only migrates the permanently deleted items stored in the vault archive.
This efficient algorithm ensures that all your data are migrated in a fast and efficient way.
Below is a screenshot of the request performed in Vault to extract the deleted items.
How are data migrated?
The platform exports the permanently deleted items into a PST file.
The PST is then uploaded directly to the Microsoft data import service, into a secure blob storage maintained by Microsoft.
Once the PST are uploaded to the Microsoft import service, all you have to do is to start the import service job that will upload the PST to the target mailbox (online mailbox or archive mailbox).
