Root Cause

Missing Google Drives Audit

The Google Sites migration tool attempts to migrate embedded Google Drive content, but no Drives audit has been performed. Without the audit, the migration tool cannot locate or reference the embedded Drive files.

Why the Audit Is Required

  • • Google Sites often embed files from Google Drive
  • • The audit creates an index of all Drive files and their IDs
  • • During site migration, embedded files are matched to this index
  • • Without the index, file IDs cannot be resolved

Solution

Run Google Drives Audit First

1

Run Google Drives Audit

Navigate to the Google Drives section in Cloudiway and run an audit for all tenant users. This indexes all Drive files.

2

Wait for Completion

Allow the audit to complete fully. Large tenants may take some time to process all Drive content.

3

Restart Sites Migration

Once the Drives audit is complete, restart the Google Sites migration for the affected sites.

Best Practice

Always run the Google Drives audit before starting any Google Sites migration. This ensures all embedded content can be properly migrated to SharePoint.
