Resolve email configuration errors in Google Workspace migration.
Error Message
Google API Error
Error: 'invalid_request', Description: 'Invalid impersonation prn email address.'
This error occurs during Google Workspace (G Suite) migrations when attempting to access user data.
What's Happening
Root Cause
Incorrect or Non-Existent Email Address
The user email configured in the migration platform is either incorrect or doesn't exist in your Google Workspace (G Suite) environment. The service account cannot impersonate a user that Google cannot find.
Common Causes
- • Typo in the email address
- • User has been deleted from Google Workspace
- • Email domain doesn't match the Google Workspace domain
- • User was renamed but old email used in migration list
- • Alias used instead of primary email address
Solution
Verify and Correct Email Addresses
Review the User List
Navigate to your migration project and open the User List to find the affected email addresses.
Verify in Google Admin Console
Log into your Google Admin Console and confirm that each email address exists and is spelled correctly.
Correct Invalid Entries
Update any incorrect email addresses in the Cloudiway User List to match the actual user emails in Google Workspace.
Remove Non-Existent Users
If users have been deleted from Google Workspace, remove them from your migration list.
Restart Migration
After correcting the email addresses, restart the migration task.
Use Primary Email
Bulk Verification
If you have many users, export your Google Workspace user list from the Admin Console and compare it against your Cloudiway migration list to identify discrepancies.
