How to Find Your SharePoint URL Prefix
Locate your SharePoint and OneDrive tenant name for migration and connector configuration.
Overview
Your SharePoint URL prefix (also known as the tenant name) is essential for configuring migration connectors and various Cloudiway settings. This guide shows you how to find it for both SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.
URL Structure
The tenant name is the text before .sharepoint.com
OneDrive for Business
OneDrive URLs have a slightly different structure but contain the same tenant identifier:
- 1 Log into Office 365
Sign in at portal.office.com or microsoft365.com
- 2 Open OneDrive
Use the App Launcher to access your OneDrive
- 3 Identify the Tenant Name
Look for the text before
-my.sharepoint.com
Example OneDrive URL
The tenant name is the text before "-my.sharepoint.com"
URL Examples
Here are common URL patterns and where to find the tenant name:
| Service | URL Pattern | Tenant Name Location |
|---|---|---|
| SharePoint Home | tenantname.sharepoint.com | Before .sharepoint.com |
| SharePoint Admin | tenantname-admin.sharepoint.com | Before -admin |
| OneDrive | tenantname-my.sharepoint.com | Before -my |
| Team Site | tenantname.sharepoint.com/sites/... | Before .sharepoint.com |
Custom Domains
If your organization uses a custom domain, the tenant name in SharePoint URLs is still your original Microsoft 365 tenant name, not your custom domain.
Using the Tenant Name in Cloudiway
Once you've identified your tenant name, use it when configuring connectors:
- Office 365 Connector: Enter the tenant name in the SharePoint URL prefix field
- OneDrive Migration: The platform automatically constructs the -my.sharepoint.com URL
- SharePoint Sites: Use the full site URL including the tenant prefix
