Zimbra Migration Guide
Complete requirements and considerations for migrating from Zimbra to Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
Overview
Cloudiway's Zimbra migration solution is a SaaS platform that connects directly to your Zimbra server. The migration requires the Zimbra server to be accessible from the internet to enable secure data transfer.
SaaS Architecture
As a cloud-based service, Cloudiway doesn't require any on-premises installation. All migration processing occurs securely in the cloud.
Migration Modes
Cloudiway supports two migration approaches depending on your Zimbra environment:
Admin Account Mode
Recommended for on-premises Zimbra or hosted environments where you have full administrative access.
- Single delegated admin account
- Access to all mailboxes
- Centralized migration control
Self-Service Mode
For hosted Zimbra services where the provider cannot grant full admin access.
- Users enter own credentials
- Per-user authentication
- Flexible for hosted environments
