Licenses have no expiration date. Once you have purchased a license, you can use it whenever you want.
However, once you have successfully migrated a user, a drive, a group or a site (meaning that the migration went in status “Success”), you cannot run a new migration or a Delta pass more than 90 days after the first migration was completed successfully.
The license expiration starts to count down from the first successful completion date and for 90 days thereafter.
Action icons:
After a successful audit or pre-processing action, the burned license icon is shown. Can’t reuse this license anymore.
After the first successful migration, the count-down license icon is shown. Count down for 90 days expiration date has started.
Alert message after your first successful migration:
–ATTENTION: You have concluded your 1st pass on your License, please be advised that you now have 90 days to complete your migration.
Error message after expiration date:
–ERROR: You have exceeded the 90 day limit for your {Product} migration which was on {Date} (this is the date the first migration completed successfully)
Unable to run a Delta pass, 90 days limit
While starting a new delta pass, you are hitting the error message “Unable to run a delta pass. Your first successful pass completed more than 90 days ago”.
How to proceed if you’re reaching this 90 days limit
The limit is per license per user and expires 90 days after the first successful migration.
If you are reaching this limit, you may contact Cloudiway support which will allow you up to 2 additional delta passes during 1 week:
- 1 delta pass before your cutover date
- and another final delta pass that will run quickly as there will be almost nothing left to migrate
The platform is a migration engine, not a synchronization engine.
If you want to be able to run more delta passes over the incoming weeks, you will need to purchase new licenses and contact Cloudiway support to assign these new licenses.
Important Note
Cloudiway is storing metadata to avoid to duplicate items during delta passes.
In particular, it stores the id of items to migrate and the date of their last modification.
As per GDPR regulation, customer data can be stored for a duration of 90 days. If there is no activity on your license for more than 90 days, data will be automatically deleted.
It means that if you start your migration and interrupt it for 6 months and come back to complete the migration (even if you purchase new license), you will end up with duplication of items since your metadata would have been deleted.
