Root Causes

Cause 1: Personal Email Accounts

The platform is designed to migrate company data, not personal data. Personal Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo accounts are not supported by this B2B migration solution.

Unsupported Account Types

@gmail.com @hotmail.com @yahoo.com @outlook.com

Cause 2: Zimbra or IMAP Server Issues

When migrating from Zimbra or IMAP sources, verify the following:

  • The mailbox possesses a valid license
  • IMAP protocol is enabled on the user's mailbox
  • Server port configuration in the source connector is correct

Cause 3: Invalid Credentials

If user credentials provided through self-service mode are incorrect, the platform cannot establish a connection.

Solutions

For Personal Accounts

Cloudiway is a B2B solution. Personal email accounts (Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo) cannot be migrated. Use a different migration solution for personal accounts.

For IMAP/Zimbra Issues

Verify IMAP is enabled for the mailbox, check port configuration (typically 993 for SSL), and ensure the account has a valid license.

For Invalid Credentials

Use the "Resend" button to allow users to re-enter their credentials correctly via the self-service portal.

B2B Platform

Cloudiway is designed for business-to-business migration. It supports Google Workspace, Office 365, Exchange, and business IMAP servers - not personal email accounts.
