Error Message

SharePoint Migration Error

The sign-in name or password does not match one in the Microsoft account system.

This error occurs during SharePoint migration or Get Sites operations.

Root Cause

Invalid or Expired Credentials

The credentials stored in the Cloudiway connector are either incorrect or have expired within the target Office 365 environment.

Common Causes

  • • Password was changed in Office 365
  • • Username was entered incorrectly
  • • Account has been disabled or deleted
  • • MFA was enabled on the account

Solution

Update Connector Credentials

Verify Credentials

Test your admin credentials by logging into Office 365 portal directly at portal.office.com.

Update Connector

Navigate to your connector settings in Cloudiway and update the email address and password with correct values.

Restart Operation

Restart the Get Sites operation or migration process.

Password Changes

If you recently changed the admin password in Office 365, remember to update it in all Cloudiway connectors that use that account.
