How Long Are Migration Records Kept?

Understanding Cloudiway's data retention and cleanup policies.

Last updated: 2025-01-15 General Info

Overview

The Cloudiway migration platform functions as a migration engine, not a long-term synchronization tool. For long-term data sharing needs, Cloudiway offers a separate coexistence platform.

Manual Deletion

Users can manually remove migration records at project completion by:

  • Deleting users from the Mail User List
  • Closing projects entirely

Automatic Deletion

90-Day Inactivity Rule

Data older than 90 days will be automatically deleted if the migration remains inactive. The platform defines inactivity as no new items migrated within that 90-day window.

How Deletion Works

Deletion occurs per individual migration entry rather than as bulk operations. When automatic deletion occurs, affected users disappear from the Mail User List after the cleanup process.

Cleanup Schedule

Monthly Process

The cleaning process is performed at the beginning of each calendar month. Any migration records that have been inactive for 90+ days will be removed during this process.

Keep Migrations Active

To prevent automatic deletion, ensure at least some migration activity occurs within each 90-day period, or manually export/backup important records before the retention period expires.
